When prophets say ‘we proclaim,’ that is a proclamation. It’s not just the few.

The 2016 New Era article claiming that the Church has no official position on evolution is flat wrong, it’s a lie. Look at the 1909 and 1925 statements of the First Presidency clearly declaring Darwinian evolution as false.

This all pertains to our central doctrine that we are the children of God.

Even if you say this doesn’t affect your faith, it affects the faith of many.

Vince encourages firesides on the subject. In firesides, build around these proclamations. Share science supporting that central idea. To do a fireside, you don’t need permission; you just reserve the building or the room. His videos could be played as a part of these firesides. These meetings could be recorded as well. A series of firesides would be particularly helpful. You could bring on various experts. Naturally, in church firesides the material must be totally non-commercial, no promoting certain brands or products.

Vince has also worked to promote better state standards for education in Utah, fostering more openness to sharing evidence for a creator in schools, and the weaknesses of Darwinian evolution. He created ScienceFreedom.org, which is directed mainly toward the education system in Utah and the issue of evolution.
